About Sarah

Hi there!

My name is Sarah, and I’ve been a registered Counselling Psychologist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa for the past 15 years. For the last two years, I’ve focused my work on providing psychotherapy in my private practice here in Israel. In this time, I’ve had the privilege of working with clients from diverse backgrounds—ranging from native Israelis to Olim—each with their own unique stories and challenges.

Living in Israel and making Aliyah—whether recently or many years ago—profoundly shapes one’s identity, psychological development, and mental health. This dynamic is something I’m particularly passionate about, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to support clients navigating these complex and deeply personal experiences.

Before moving to Israel, I practiced for 13 years in South Africa, offering both in-person and online therapy to adults and parents. My experience spans private practice, non-profit work, and employee wellness initiatives. I also had the honor of lecturing and supervising psychology students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

I believe in continual learning, which led me to complete my Ph.D. in 2022. My research on the experiences of new fathers has been published in several South African and international psychology journals. I also enjoy communicating psychological insights through storytelling—a passion that inspired me to publish a children’s book.

As a therapist, I deeply value the transformative power of therapy. I know firsthand how it can shape our lives, relationships, and personal growth. My goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you feel heard, understood, and supported. Together, we’ll explore who you are and what you need from therapy. While I primarily draw on psychodynamic therapy, I also integrate techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to meet your individual needs. I understand that therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all, and I tailor my approach to suit your unique circumstances.

If you ever need additional support or referrals, I’m happy to help you find the right resources.

I look forward to working with you and supporting you on your therapeutic journey.
